Stretch

After all the years I've spent investigating Multimedia
there are times like this
when I just want to go back to
building animated Giffs!!
I've spent thousands of dollars
and thousands of hours
learning the conventions,
and the techniques ...
...and yet...
it's the stuff that I initially did
when I
"didn't know anything"
that keeps calling to me.
I've stretched, sure...
But it's time to reintegrate.

I'm going back to the original image
each time.
I was enjoying the process
and the results
so much
that I didn't even think about
tweaking the expression...

The Unnatural Also

more open now,
with a different expression.
I like the
asymmetrical/bent glasses.
It's not Photography for me
anymore,
it's drawing.

simplified the background
and
tweaked my eyebrows
and lips.
Non-Artists often think making art is about
adding alot of detail,
but more often than not
it is about removing details
that detract from the story.

The Natural

I so rarely post unmodified
images that I feel
like I almost have to apologize or explain
when I do.
Yes, this is what I really look like.
Yes, it's a webcam shot, you can tell, right?
It's funny how in a very short period of time
-my lifetime-
photography has moved from being
a black art
to
ubiquitous.
Once
"seeing is believing"
applied to photography,
now we look at photos and nod knowingly -
"gotta be Photoshop"
or, my term,
"Photo-Chopped".
It's so expected that unmodified pictures
give me pause ...
"What? A natural?
I didn't know they still existed!"
I'll add the modified version later,
see if you can tell what I was thinking
and why.

bunkbed rebuild

Donna's studio day.
Put wheels on cabinet.
And made two single beds
out of one bunkbed.

Metalshop week

This is my Metalshop Week.
It's an Art School Metalshop,
but a Metalshop still.
I thought I was switching/transforming
from analogue to digital,
but,
also and too,
becoming a wood worker,
however,
it all seems to be fusing in a
Multimedia Mashup,
both oldschool analogue,
and
digital meanings combined.
Oldschool,
Newschool,
Artschool.
Watch for the Flash animation,
integrating photography,
via Photoshop,
of various wood/metal hybrid objects.
